Fidya

Fidya

Fidyah is a charitable compensation given by those who are unable to fast during Ramadan due to a valid, long-term reason such as chronic illness or old age, with no expectation of being able to make up the missed fasts in the future.

Through the payment of Fidyah, a Muslim fulfils their obligation by providing food to those in need, ensuring that the poor and vulnerable are supported during this blessed month.

How Fidyah Is Fulfilled

Fidyah is given for each fast missed and is fulfilled by feeding one needy person (miskeen) per day. This can be done by:

  • Providing two full meals to a poor person, or
  • Giving the equivalent amount of staple food, or
  • Donating the monetary value of that food

Who Receives Fidyah

Fidyah donations are distributed to:

  • Orphans
  • Widows
  • The destitute and extremely poor

These donations are used to provide essential food supplies to vulnerable families in Bangladesh, helping them meet their most basic needs with dignity.

A Means of Mercy and Relief

Fidyah ensures that no one is excluded from the rewards of Ramadan due to genuine hardship. It is an act rooted in mercy, allowing those who cannot fast to still take part in caring for the poor and easing the burden on those struggling to survive.

By contributing to this project, you are providing nourishment, comfort, and relief to those who need it most.

Donate now to fulfil your Fidyah and help feed those in need.
